Palm oil has unique transportation standards. LiquA has created a flexitank designed specifically for the transportation of palm oil.
Palm oil is the second largest source of vegetable oil in the world. This common oil is derived from the palm fruit that grows in tropical countries. Aside from soybean and rapeseed oil, palm oil is the most widely traded oil in the world. It has many uses, including in edible products, external-use cosmetics, and in biofuel production.
Did you know?
90% of the world’s palm oil is produced in Indonesia and Malaysia. There are also several smaller palm oil exporters in Honduras, Colombia, Panama and Guatemala.
Palm oil and its byproducts have a freezing point between 20°C to 65°C, so it requires heating for discharge when it reaches its destination. The integrated heating system of this flexitank makes it possible to heat the palm oil for discharge without needing an additional heating pad. The fast heating of the H-Flex allows you to discharge palm oil up to 20 times quicker than conventional flexitanks.
LiquA has developed a flexitank specifically designed for palm oil. This flexitank, which is a version of the H-Flex Steam Liner, is able to load 27,000 liters of palm oil and heat/discharge it within the same day at destination.
The high capacity of LiquA flexitanks allows shipping companies to save over 12% on overall freight costs, as each flexitank can contain 27,000 liters (3,000L more than our competitors).
