Why the Nnautilus?
Most forwarders and shippers in the industry have encountered problems with damaged or bulged containers due to ineffective flexitanks. Conventional flexitanks are meant to preserve liquids inside of a giant pillow-like apparatus. They provide a protective layer to preserve the cargo—but the design allows the liquid to move around.
This movement causes the liquid to generate hydrodynamic force, which puts stress on the container side walls and doors. While a high-quality bulkhead can reduce strain, it may redirect that force to the sidewalls, causing additional damage by bulging.
Nnautilus technology is an innovative approach that’s designed to tackle this issue.
It uses a long tube/bladder folded over and interconnected to compartmentalize the bladder like the nautilus did millions of years ago.
Unlike conventional flexitanks, its dome shape and restraining system enables it to harness and circulate the liquid through the interconnection holes. This helps reduce the formation of hydrodynamic forces, keeping the cargo safe in the process.
Enhanced capacity with no downsides
Our flexitanks have a narrow width compared to conventional flexitanks. And by folding the bladder over, it enhances the loading capacity up to 27,000 L without exerting pressure on the side walls or doors of the container.
This makes it an economical option that reduces damage and eliminates the need for rigid bulkheads. And without the need for a rigid bulkhead, the fitting and application procedure can be completed in as quickly as three minutes. Our flexitanks are compatible with virtually all containers on the market
LiquA flexitanks can be used with almost any container available. There are many restrictions regarding the selection of containers with conventional flexitanks. This is due to the fact that conventional flexitanks rely on the strength of the container as they transfer all the pressure coming from the liquid inside towards the container.
Being a self-standing flexitank, almost any container can be used as long as it’s cleaned properly, free of odors and sharp objects.

Caterpillars are fascinating creatures that rely on metamorphosis to evolve into a butterfly. They don't have a bone in their body and move by squeezing muscles at the joints of the chambers in sequence in an undulating wave motion. It’s this process that inspired our engineers.
Road tankers / tanker trucks are what many companies think to use when transporting liquids on the road. But they aren’t always the most practical option. Road tankers have limited availability and are expensive. Not only you need to pay for their return trip but you also need to make sure that they are hygiene enough to transport your cargo.
Sensitive liquids such as milk have strict regulations dictating how they can be shipped. And if you do find a milk tanker, you need to ensure that it is well cleaned, free of cleaning chemicals, and other contaminants.
Compartmentalized cargo
reduces hydrodynamic force
Ccaterpillar technology is designed to tackle the above issues for liquids as long that are not classified by the UN as hazardous. It uses a long mono block tube/bladder that has several “rings” to shrink down the total circumference at certain areas to compartmentalize the bladder—similar to a caterpillar.
Should a vehicle break suddenly during transit, the design’s rings create bottlenecks that help dissipate any energy created by the liquid moving around. This helps avoid the formation of hydrodynamic forces and keeps your cargo safe.
Flexible and hygienic shipping solutions that offer aseptic options
Flexitanks that utilize Ccaterpillar technology are applicable for tented trailers, dry vans, 40 ft containers, reefer trailers, 40 ft reefer containers, and virtually any trailer available. Our flexitanks are produced in a clean room, and we can even manufacture aseptic options if requested.
Improve the efficiency of your shipping routes
Your cargo will stay well preserved in any type of trailer and you are not limited by tanker availability. It’s easy to use the same trailer to transport liquid one way, and dry cargo on the return trip. You don’t need to pay to have your trailer returned.
The Ccaterpillar technology solution is safe, hygienic, and economical.

The yellow boxfish (Ostracion Ccubicus) can be found in reefs. Boxfish are known for their armored and rigid body that inhibits movements. This disadvantage is offset by the boxfish's carapace shape which is far more advantageous for its evolved style of swimming. The rigid nature of the boxfish’s carapace is what inspired our engineers.
Transporting liquids has been a challenge since ancient times. Throughout history, we’ve relied on wooden barrels, plastic containers, and metal drums. Round and cylinder shapes have always been dominant when shipping liquids. But the cubical shape that the boxfish relies offers immense structural strength.
A reliable collapsible
flexitank for your shipments
Today, we have many options for liquid storage and transportation, including bins, drums, barrels, IBCs, and more. While they are reliable, the collapsible versions of them are not. Our Ccubicus technology provides a cubical shape that saves space, offers enhanced durability, and is collapsible.
Its composite form features an exterior made of woven polypropylene and woven fabric with polypropylene supporting tubes. The system requires a “cassette” which is made out of two plies of polyethylene with a carton protection.

Ever wondered how life first began on our planet? Hydrothermal vents may hold the key to uncovering the mystery. They are fissures in a planet’s crust where geothermally heated water and particles are emitted. The water from hydrothermal vents is rich in dissolved minerals and supports a large population of bacteria.
Liquids such as palm oil, coconut oil, syrups, glucose, and fructose have low melting points and solidify very quickly. The flexitank industry uses “serpentine” solutions that use hoses to circulate heat to liquefy these edible oils. However, this method is ineffective because it consumes an immense amount of energy and takes too long to heat liquids.
Thermal technology adapts the principals of hydrothermal vents to flexitanks. It uses a hybrid system that combines a steam liner, elevating grid, and steam distributor.
A combination heating system that
simplifies the entire process
The steam liner, which preserves steam, is installed before fitting a flexitank.
The elevating grid lifts the flexitank and creates sufficient space for steam circulation underneath the flexitank/solid cargo.
This allows steam to be circulated all around the flexitank while heating liquids. Since the steam is directly in touch with the flexitank surface, it transmits more heat to the solidified liquids.
Heat your liquids up to 20 times faster
Steam that’s circulated throughout the flexitank not only heats the liquid, but it creates an insulation chamber around it. This causes extremely high heat transmission that will enhance the heating significantly. Thermal technology is being applied along with Nnautilus flexitanks to allow for capacities of up to 27,000 L.

● The LiquA H-Flex & a conventional flexitank containing the same product (palm stearin) were heated side-by-side.
● The LiquA H-flex Steam Liner fully heated all the products and was completely discharged in only 18 hours.
● The conventional flexitank with a heating pad was fully heated and discharged in 14 days.
