Nnautilus
Technology
We drew inspiration from the Nautilus
when designing the E-Flex.
Damaged and bulged containers are a common problem of the flexitank industry. Conventional flexitanks preserve the liquid inside but the design allows it to move around.
This movement causes the liquid to generate hydrodynamic force, which puts stress on the container side walls and doors. The bulkheads may reduce the strain on the door side but redirects it to the sidewalls, causing bulging.
NNAUTILIUS technology is an innovative “No Bulkhead Flexitank” approach that's designed to tackle the sidewall bulging issue.
Patented anti-bulging design on the side walls.
A common problem with conventional flexitanks is that they put pressure on the sidewalls of containers, causing bulging.
After thousands of E-Flex shipments, there has not been a single recorded case of container bulging caused by the
E-Flex flexitank. E-Flex supports the entire burden of the
cargo by itself, so any container can be used to transport the E-Flex flexitank.

AvailableDual Flexitank
Dual E-Flex holds up to 23,000 litres; 13,000 litres in the lower compartment and 10,000 litres in the upper compartment. You can even load the compartments at 2 different locations.
The Dual E-Flex flexitank is built precisely so that you can load two different products in the same tank. For example we can load red wine and white wine in the same flexitank, separate compartments, separate valves.
What Are the Main Advantages of E-Flex Over Other Flexitanks?
E-Flex tanks are the highest capacity flexitank on the market. The 27,000 capacity allows for about 12% savings on overall freight costs thanks to the increased payload size. You can load base oils, palm oils, stearin, olein, soybean oil, olive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, sunflower oil, fish oil, used cooking oil and biodiesel making use of our high capacity flexitank.
A common problem with flexitanks is that they put pressure on the sidewalls of containers, causing bulging. After thousands of E-Flex shipments, there has not been a single recorded case of container bulging having been caused by the E-Flex flexitank. E-Flex supports the entire burden of the cargo by itself, so any container can be used to transport the E-Flex flexitank.
Does E-Flex Easy Flexitank Really Have No Bulkhead?
The E-Flex flexitank doesn’t require a rigid bulkhead, because it has an integrated flexible restraint and harnessing system. If you’re interested in the detailed technical specifications, please contact LiquA for more information.
E-Flex Has No Rigid Bulkhead. Is It Safe?
Not only is the E-Flex design safe to transport despite its lack of a rigid bulkhead, its integrated restraint system helps stabilize the liquid contents. Our anti-wave technology allows the E-Flex to control the movement of liquid and avoid accumulation of energy through the harnessing system: in other words, the tank is able to absorb forces that are applied to it during the shipping process and protect its contents.
E-Flex has been successfully tested in Pueblo, CO, USA according to international norm of PAS 1008-2016 and certified by Container Owners Association.
Do Container Walls Bulge When the E-Flex Is in Use? What Container Selection Criteria Do You Use?
One of the main selling points of the E-Flex flexitank is that it does not exert any pressure to the side walls of its container. Almost any 20’ container is compatible with E-Flex: we don’t require any specifications aside from making sure that the container does not have sharp edges facing the flexitank.
Is the Fitting/Application of E-Flex Different Than Other Flexitanks on the Market?
Yes. It is fundamentally different and much easier. It takes only three minutes to fit a container and get ready for filling whereas a conventional flexitank fitting takes more than 20 minutes. All of the equipment you need to fit your E-Flex is included with the flexitank itself.
Can You Assist Us During the Fitting, Loading, Discharge, and Disposal Processes?
We have a network of partners in 50 countries which offers support to our clients. We will both service your E-Flex tank and train your workers on how to use it effectively. If your business is located in a country we do not have covered, we can send technicians abroad to train your technical team.
You can stay connected with us using our mobile app, which allows us to monitor your flexitank fittings and provide you with feedback. Discharge and disposal assistance services are also available upon request.
What Sizes Is the E-Flex Available In?
E-Flex comes in 4 different sizes to enable loadings ranging from 12,000 litres/3,170 gallons to 27,000 litres/7,130 gallons. 27,000 litre/7,130 gallon size is the highest capacity on the market and E-Flex is the only flexitank that can load such capacity.
Which Cargo Can I Transport With the E-Flex?
E-Flex works with almost any non-hazardous liquid. Our flexitanks are manufactured with food products in mind, so they are ideal for cargos of juices, oils, and wines as well as chemicals. Before we approve your cargo, we will need to see the MSDS (material safety data sheet) to ensure that the substance is safe to transport.
Can I Transport Two Different Liquids in One Flexitank?
The Dual E-Flex flexitank is built precisely so that you can load two different products in the same tank. For example we can load red wine and white wine in the same flexitank.
Where Are the Flexitanks Manufactured?
Our production site is based in Istanbul, Turkey and our products are produced in clean room, following regulations. You are welcome to visit our production site to observe the process.
Where Is the Valve Located, and What Size Is It?
The design of our flexitanks is more advanced and innovative than the rest of the products in the industry. Our valve is considered as bottom load. However as there are no bulkheads it is not static and goes up during loading. Our standard valve is 3” male camlock. An adaptor to reduce it to 2” is available upon request.
How Much Residue Will Be Left in the Flexitank?
If you follow proper procedure during the discharge operation, the amount of residue left over inside the tank will be lower than any other flexitanks on the market.
Is the E-Flex flexitank Reusable?
Our flexitank cannot be reused due to health and safety concerns.
Can an Air Release System Be Integrated in the Design?
Depending on your cargo it may be possible to use an air vent to release any gas or air in the flexitank. If you’re looking for a specific consultation, contact us.
Is E-Flex Approved by Major Shipping Lines?
E-Flex is approved by all major shipping lines and is used in over 50 countries worldwide. contact us for further information.
